Established in 1982, Alison’s Acquisitions is New Zealand’s most recognised supplier of premium artificial flowers and unique Christmas collections to the trade.
For almost four decades, Alison has drawn on her interior design background and instinctive eye for colour to curate collections that feel both natural and beautifully considered. Each flower is developed with intention, not simply to replicate nature, but to capture it.
Every individual flower must pass a simple question:
“Would we acquire it for our own home?”
This philosophy continues to shape everything we do.
In the Beginning
Alison’s Acquisitions began with a search for beautiful glassware, importing statement vases from Turkey at a time when they were difficult to source.
A chance discovery of artificial florals in Paris changed everything.
Originally purchased to style a trade fair stand, the flowers quickly became the focus, with retailers drawn to their beauty.
“Can we buy these? I’m not usually into artificial flowers, but these are different.”
That response sparked a new direction.
Soon after, Alison returned to France to study artificial flower arranging – marking the beginning of her journey into developing botanicals inspired by nature in all its forms, from New Zealand landscapes to gardens around the world. Inspiration for these florals come from many directions.

Alison’s creative involvement in developing new collections remains at the heart of the business. Working with skilled artisans around the world, each piece is carefully considered – from colour palette to construction – ensuring it meets the standard that has defined the brand since the beginning.

While our collections are now available to order online, the showroom remains an essential part of the experience – offering even more to discover.
